A new residence designed within the Armstrong Creek growth area. It is designed as a small house in floor area (keeping the build cost lower) which feels large internally with better planning & use of space. Corridors and accessways are minimised allowing more value to go into usable rooms & floor area. The site is orientated east-west allowing for maximum north facing living and passive heating/cooling considerations. The sun accesses and warms every room in the house in winter, with sun protection also working to keep the house cool passively in summer. The exposed and insulated thermal mass slab collects and retains solar energy in winter for heating, whilst also keeping it cool in summer, keeping heating and cooling costs low. The first floor view look north into the park and towards Geelong city centre.
